OMG! I just realized something. The count to a million thread in the original Winamp Forums site will now never be completed.

Where would you see the amount of threads at the original Winamp Forums?

Well, we can still open a new one (if someone is interested to do so) or maybe hoping for an import (which I doubt it'll happen).

with the count to a million thread, thought someone might just take a screenshot of whatever was the last post in the thread was (or something like that) and continue from that number on here.

importing a forum db dump is likely not going to happen or be good for what we're running. as we're on a different forum software and an import of almost 14years of a lot of crap just isn't a good thing to do imho i.e. we're wanting to as far the Winamp specifics go, start fresh from what's left and move things on as can be done as a community specific aspect.

But an archive of the old forums would be great... maybe the old forum can be moved completely and be continued? Any chance for AOL to (let you) move this installation to another domain?

Anyway this doesn't mean that I don't appreciate a FRESH and NEW forum like this one - great you opened it up! But it'll never be the same as before...

(I already experienced something similar: the German audio/video/homecinema board "dvdboard.de" which existed since 1999 and was legendary, but was closed in 2011 somewhat "suddenly"... now there is a new one under a different domain with some of the users, and it's great, but it's not the same "ambiente" )

pooigido in earnest. he has submitted that avatar and user name in various posts in the overtheres. i dont fully grock his meaning, but his post reads. close enough, that's a win. i'll be happy to refer to puitdijjo as "course not."

i might of guessed he was "data.enterprise," i suppose the mystery of that person's identity remains.

i'll encourage him as long as his posts dont get super epic and too spammy. i cant help but regard pooigido as a mystery. i might have a bit of a habit at picking at such things.
